The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of multi-state payroll using ADP. This role plays a critical part in maintaining payroll accuracy, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and serving as a trusted resource for payroll-related inquiries. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with Human Resources, Finance, and business leaders to ensure employees are paid accurately and on schedule.Key Responsibilities**Payroll Processing & Administration*** Process bi-weekly payrolls using ADP.* Review and validate payroll inputs, including: + New hires + Terminations + Compensation changes + Bonuses + Commissions + One-time payments* Maintain employee payroll records and direct deposit information.* Administer garnishments, tax levies, and court-ordered deductions.Payroll Accuracy & Reconciliation* Audit payroll data for accuracy prior to submission.* Review payroll registers and gross-to-net calculations.* Reconcile payroll reports, tax withholdings, benefits deductions, and other payroll-related data.* Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries in a timely manner.**Cross-Functional Collaboration*** Partner with Human Resources to ensure employee data changes are accurately reflected in payroll systems.* Collaborate with Finance on payroll journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting activities.* Support business leaders by providing payroll-related guidance and assistance.**Compliance & Process Improvement*** Ensure compliance with payroll tax regulations, wage and hour laws, and company policies.* Support year-end payroll activities, including W-2 processing and audit preparation.* Develop, document, and maintain payroll procedures, controls, and best practices.Qualifications**Required Experience*** 3+ years of payroll processing experience.* Hands-on experience with ADP payroll systems.* Experience processing multi-state payrolls.**Knowledge & Skills*** Strong understanding of payroll taxes, wage and hour laws, and payroll compliance requirements.* Advanced Excel skills, including: + VLOOKUPs + Pivot Tables + Data reconciliation and analysis* Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills. *Everforth Apex is a world-class IT services company that serves thousands of clients across the globe.
