Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Payroll Specialist to manage end-to-end US payroll processing with expertise in ADP GlobalView and Workday integration. The role covers weekly and semi-monthly cycles, off-cycle payrolls, and integrity checks across timesheets and hours worked.

The ideal candidate will collaborate with leadership, HR, and Finance to ensure accurate employee data, compliance with federal/state/local laws, and smooth data flow between Workday and ADP GV.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, HR, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of payroll processing experience.
• Proficiency in ADP GlobalView (ADP GV), SAP, and Smart Compliance.
• Strong working understanding of Workday in an integrated environment.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Office Suite.
• Deep understanding of US federal and state payroll regulations and tax laws.

Responsibilities

• Execute weekly and semi-monthly payrolls, including off-cycles, verifying timesheets.
• Manage and submit payroll data using Workday-to-ADP GlobalView integration.
• Collaborate with leadership, HR, and Finance to ensure data accuracy.
• Regulate the performance of the third-party payroll vendor (ADP).
• Maintain and update employee payroll records for hires, terminations, leaves, promotions, and salary changes.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws; conduct audits.
• Manage garnishments, child support orders, tax levies, and creditor levies.
• Verify prorations and perform retro pay calculations for mid-period changes.
• Prepare payroll reports and assist with quarterly/annual tax filings and W-2 processing.
• Respond to employee pay/tax inquiries per SLA; drive process improvements and automation.
• Deliver training and document payroll processes and procedures.
