Job summary

Humane Society of Huron Valley is seeking an Adoption Specialist to provide compassionate client service and counseling for pet adoptions, including interactions at the Tiny Lions Cat Cafe.

The role requires a friendly demeanor, ability to handle high-stress moments, and prior experience with customer service. Responsibilities span adoption support, cash handling, CRM updates, and daily café/store operations.

Qualifications

• Requires strong customer service and communication skills in person and over the phone.

• Interest in animal welfare and familiarity with adoption processes.

Responsibilities

• Represent HSHV professionally at all times.
• Facilitate client/animal interactions for safe, pleasant experiences.
• Inform clients about adoption processes and animal availability.
• Discuss animal medical and behavioral history and provide educational materials.
• Assist adopters with paperwork, transactions, and receipts.
• Handle front desk duties, process payments, and manage holds and recalls.
• Maintain café and retail spaces, and support daily shelter operations.
