Job summary

The Villa at Mountain View in Dallas, TX is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing Services to support the Director of Nursing in directing daily nursing operations and ensuring care meets state and federal guidelines. This role carries administrative responsibility for delivering quality patient/resident care.

As Assistant Director, you will supervise staff, coordinate treatments and medications, participate in committees, and uphold safety and care standards across the facility.

Qualifications

• Current and valid nursing license in the applicable state.
• Minimum of two years charge nurse and supervisory experience in a long-term care setting is preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate day-to-day nursing care for patients/residents in accordance with state and federal rules, regulations, and standard nursing practices.
• Ensure provision of treatments, medications, and nursing services according to care plans and physician orders.
• Participate in annual evaluations and disciplinary actions as needed per policies.
• Lead weekly/monthly committees and ensure meetings are held as per clinical policies.
• Conduct frequent rounds to ensure nursing personnel perform essential functions per guidelines.
• Notify attending physicians and families of significant health changes.
• Function as a team leader/role model and take call as needed.
• Ensure compliance with clinical policies and procedures and abuse prevention policies.
• Contribute to orientation and professional development of nursing staff.
