Job summary

Longhorn Village in Texas is seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing to lead the nursing service operations in a 24-hour facility. The role supports the Director of Nursing, ensures quality resident care, and maintains regulatory compliance across Federal, State, and local standards.

The ideal candidate holds a current Texas RN license, can supervise staff, and communicate with residents, families, and physicians with tact and professionalism.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse with a current Texas license.
• Ability to read regulations and write clearly.
• Ability to communicate in courteous, friendly manner.
• Ability to manage and direct subordinates.
• Ability to make independent decisions when warranted.
• Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents and the public.
• Ability to plan, organize and implement programs for resident care.
• Physical requirements as described; able to perform essential duties.
• Knowledge of Federal and State regulations and OBRA laws.

Responsibilities

• Interviews, hires, orients, schedules, assigns work and evaluates staff.
• Interacts with residents, families, or visitors to solve problems.
• Assist physicians in planning individual resident care.
• Audits nursing documentation for compliance.
• Participates in workshops and trainings to stay current.
• Monitors Quality Improvement and department procedures.
• Represent the facility with outside agencies and regulators.
• Ensure residents’ rights are protected and respected.
• Be on call as department policy.
