Job summary

The Waters is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support the Director of Nursing in planning, directing and evaluating the Nursing Department within a holistic, rehabilitative approach for residents. You will supervise nursing staff and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.

Ideal candidates hold an active RN license in Indiana, with advanced education in nursing management and a proven track record in elder care leadership.

Qualifications

• Unencumbered, active RN licensure in the state of employment.
• Advanced education and/or experience in nursing management/administration (one year recommended).
• Sincere desire to work with elders and others with limited self-care capacity.
• Mental and physical ability to perform essential job functions with or without accommodations.
• Ability to work with diverse personality types and maturity levels.

Responsibilities

• Establish and implement objectives and standards for the Nursing Department in compliance with current regulatory requirements.
• Evaluate and monitor Resident rounds and care rendering.
• Ensure staffing levels through training and personnel processes to meet Resident needs daily on a shift-to-shift basis.
• Communicate changes in Resident status promptly to physicians and family members/legal guardians.
• Establish rapport with staff, healthcare team, Residents, families and visitors.
• Implement standards of care, policies and procedures.
• Work on the floor when necessary.
• Conduct monthly internal self-audits of Quality Indicators using audit tools.
