Cedarhurst Living is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing to support clinical operations and lead nursing staff within our senior living community. The role reports to the Director of Nursing and focuses on quality care aligned with physician directives and regulatory standards.

The ADON will oversee nursing and caregiving teams, ensure safe medication administration, and drive staff development, training, and continuous quality improvement.

Competenze

• Graduation from an accredited nursing school and a current state license for LPN or RN is required; 3+ years nursing experience preferred.
• CPR and BLS certification preferred.
• Knowledge of person-directed care for seniors, including dementia, preferred.
• Experience with preadmission assessments, staff training, and family communications.
• Basic proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.

• Assist with defining and maintaining nursing practice standards; act in the Directors absence.
• Oversee medications, treatments, and nursing services per resident care plans.
• Develop and maintain in-service education for nursing staff.
• Conduct daily rounds to monitor nursing care delivery.
• Participate in management team planning and policy formation for care services.
• Assess residents and potential residents for appropriate levels of care.
• Coordinate work of nursing and care staff; communicate health and safety information.
• Supervise medications for residents who self-administer, if applicable.
• Oversee pharmacy relations, eMAR accuracy, and timely med delivery.
• Provide interim documentation for resident files and attend interdisciplinary meetings.
• Interview, hire, train, supervise, evaluate, and retain a high-performing care team.
• Support occupancy growth while prioritizing resident well-being.
• Promote wellbeing and strive for maximal self-care and independence where possible.
• Understand residents’ Advance Directives and honor their wishes.
• Communicate effectively with families about residents’ care.
• Collaborate with management and resolve conflicts as needed.
