Job summary

Cedarhurst Senior Living in Logansport, IN is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support the Director of Nursing in leading the community’s clinical operations and ensuring the highest quality of resident care.

You will oversee nursing and caregiving staff, drive compliance and continuous quality improvement, and collaborate with physicians, families, and a multidisciplinary team to deliver person-centered care.

Qualifications

• Active RN or LPN license in the state.
• 3+ years of nursing experience preferred.
• CPR and BLS certification preferred.
• Experience with preadmission assessments and staff training.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Nursing in defining nursing practice standards and cover in their absence.
• Oversee medications, treatments, and nursing services per care plans.
• Develop in-service education programs for nursing staff.
• Conduct daily rounds to monitor care delivery.
• Participate in management planning and policy development.
• Assess residents for appropriate care levels.
• Manage nursing and care staff schedules and communications.
• Supervise medication administration, including self-administration when applicable.
• Ensure timely pharmacy coordination, eMAR accuracy, and provider communication.
• Interim documentation for resident files and attendance at care conferences.
• Interview, hire, train, supervise, evaluate, and retain staff.
• Efforts to increase occupancy while maintaining wellbeing.
