Job summary

St Frances Nursing and Rehab is seeking a dedicated Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON). The RN is preferred with minimal LPN requirement, to work alongside the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing and directing nursing services for residents.

The role emphasizes leadership, coordination across shifts, adherence to policies, and maintaining professional standards in geriatric care. This is a full-time position requiring weekend availability.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates, plans and organizes nursing care according to policies.
• Supervises all nursing activities and promotes improvement.
• Coordinates nursing service with other departments.
• Maintains accurate reporting and records and suggests improvements.
• Maintains a safe, hazard-free environment and ensures supplies and equipment are available.
• Ensures accurate medication and narcotics recording.
• Makes rounds, implements interventions as needed.
• Ensures staff orientation to duties and appropriate task assignments.
• Promotes health and restorative nursing practices among staff.
• Guides and evaluates staff performance and provides feedback.
• Assists with staff scheduling and interpretation of facility goals.
• Assists with recruitment and selection of new personnel.
• Defines duties and interprets nursing service policies.
• Verifies time worked on time cards.
• Promotes positive relationships with administrators, medical staff and other teams.
• Delegates responsibilities and authority.
• Performs other assigned tasks.
• Attends required trainings and adheres to HIPAA and patient rights.
