Job summary

Highland Park Health Care in Okmulgee, OK is looking for an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to serve as Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON). This key management role supports leadership and delivery of clinical services to residents, ensuring the highest quality of care.

You will lead a multi-disciplinary team, oversee nursing staff, participate in care planning, and help manage budgets and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• RN or LPN license in the state of practice is required.
• Experience in a skilled nursing facility with clinical operations knowledge.
• Nursing management and staff development experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintains nursing service obligations, goals, and standards per licensure.
• Oversees and coordinates nursing staff for resident care.
• Participates in resident screening and ongoing assessment.
• Ensures adherence to infection control, QA programs, and OSHA procedures.
• Liaises between facility and outside caregivers.
• Conducts conferences, hires and orients staff, and supports in-service education.
• Manages the nursing service budget and staffing decisions.
• Monitors medications, treatments, and nursing services per care plans.
• Notifies physicians and families of significant changes in residents.
• Plans care based on assessments and assigns care staff accordingly.
• Attends department/head meetings and serves on committees as needed.
