Job summary
Optima Care Harborview in Hudson County, NJ, is seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to lead our nursing department. This leadership role requires a registered nurse with long-term care experience who can uphold clinical excellence and mentor staff.
The ADON will supervise nursing teams, coordinate patient care, support surveys, and ensure regulatory compliance, while maintaining compassionate communication with residents, families, and physicians.
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse license in New Jersey is required.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Minimum of 2–3 years in Skilled Nursing Facility or Long-Term Care.
- Strong leadership, organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Promote a safe, supportive environment with high-quality resident care.
- Lead, mentor, and supervise nursing staff to ensure clinical excellence.
- Foster teamwork, accountability and professional growth.
- Serve as liaison between nursing staff and facility leadership.
- Address clinical and unit-related concerns timely and effectively.
- Oversee weekly wound rounds and related activities.
- Support surveys, audits and regulatory compliance initiatives.
- Maintain clear communication with staff, physicians, residents and families.
