Ciena Healthcare is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, and directing the Nursing department to deliver high-quality resident care. The role involves direct supervision of nursing staff, regulatory compliance, and contributing to clinical outcomes and family satisfaction.

The ADON will participate in staff development, oversee daily operations, and help ensure adherence to policies and laws affecting long-term care

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
Progressive nursing leadership experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility or related healthcare setting.
Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing long‑term care.

Responsibilities

Assists the Director of Nursing Services in supervising nursing care provided by staff.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities per organizational policies and laws.
Interviews, recommends, hires, and trains employees.
Plans, assigns, and directs work.
Prepares work assignment sheets considering resident safety and staff capabilities.
Receives calls and arranges replacements as needed.
Transfers employees among units as needed.
Prepares performance evaluations affecting tenure and wages.
Disciplines staff up to discharge.
Supervises assigned staff and ensures proper supervision.
Approves correction of timekeeping records.
Receives and resolves employee complaints.
Determines rotation of staff within the facility.
Monitors and improves staff performance.
