Cedarhurst Of Wichita is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing to lead clinical operations, mentor nursing staff, and ensure high-quality, compliant care for residents. The ADON reports to the Director of Nursing and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to maintain safety and excellent resident outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing school and a current state license for LPN or RN; 3+ years nursing experience preferred.
• CPR and BLS certification preferred.
• Working knowledge of person-directed care for seniors, including dementia.
• Knowledgeable in preadmission assessments, staff training, and family communications.
• Basic familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Assist Director of Nursing with standards of nursing practice and cover in their absence.
• Oversee medications, treatments, and nursing services per care plans.
• Develop and maintain in-service education programs for nursing staff.
• Conduct daily rounds to monitor nursing care delivery.
• Participate in management planning and care policy development.
• Assess residents and potential residents for appropriate levels of care.
• Coordinate work of nursing and care staff and share health information.
• Supervise medication handling for self-administering residents when applicable.
• Support pharmacy oversight and timely med delivery, address concerns in real time.
• Assist with overall clinical department oversight including aides and CNAs.
• Document interim information for resident files and attend care meetings.
• Interview, hire, train, supervise, and retain a high-performing team.
• Work to increase occupancy while prioritizing resident well-being.
• Promote safety, independence, and quality of life for residents.
• Understand Advance Directives and follow resident wishes.
• Ensure effective communication with families about resident care.
• Create and manage department scheduling to meet labor budgets.
• Collaborate with management and resolve conflicts as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
