Job summary

Cedarhurst Senior Living is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing to lead clinical operations under the Director of Nursing. This role focuses on ensuring high-quality resident care, regulatory alignment, and staff coordination within the community.

The ADON will supervise nursing staff, participate in interdisciplinary meetings, and support safety, wellbeing, and residents’ independence wherever possible.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing school.
• Current state license for LPN or RN is required.
• 3+ years of nursing experience preferred.
• CPR and BLS certification preferred.
• Knowledge of person-centered care for seniors and dementia is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist Director of Nursing with defining nursing standards in the community.
• Oversee medications, treatments, and nursing services per care plans.
• Develop and maintain in-service education for nursing staff.
• Conduct daily rounds to monitor nursing care delivery.
• Participate in management team planning and policy formation.
• Assess residents for appropriate levels of care.
• Coordinate work of nursing and care staff and communicate health information.
• Supervise medication administration for self-administering residents where applicable.
