Job summary

Cedarhurst Senior Living is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support the Director of Nursing in leading clinical operations across the community. The ADON will supervise nursing and caregiving staff, ensure high-quality care per physician directives and regulatory standards, and promote safety and dignity for residents while aligning with Cedarhurst’s mission.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing school and a current state license for LPN or RN is required at all times, with 3+ years of nursing experience preferred.
• CPR and BLS certification preferred.
• Working knowledge of person-directed care practices for seniors, including those with dementia preferred.
• Knowledgeable of preadmission assessments, training, and education to staff, residents, and family members.
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Assist Director of Nursing with defining and maintaining nursing practice standards in the community.
• Oversee medications, treatments, and nursing services per resident care plans and orders.
• Develop and maintain in-service education programs for nursing staff.
• Conduct daily rounds to monitor nursing care delivery.
• Participate in management planning and policy formation with emphasis on care services.
• Assess residents and potential residents for appropriate levels of care.
• Manage and coordinate nursing and care staff, sharing health and safety information.
• Supervise self-administered medications as applicable.
• Assist with oversight of pharmacy and community relationships to ensure timely med delivery and accurate eMAR.
• Interview, hire, train, supervise, evaluate, and retain a high-performing resident care team.
• Engage to increase occupancy while prioritizing resident wellbeing and independence.
