Job summary

Arden Park Post Acute in California is seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join our leadership team. This RN will assist the DON in planning, developing, and supervising daily nursing operations, and ensure high-quality resident care.

The ADON will recruit and develop nursing staff, monitor clinical practices for regulatory compliance, conduct rounds, and support a collaborative, patient-centered care environment.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing with the California Board of Registered Nursing.
• BSN preferred; BSN degree.
• 3–5 years nursing management experience in skilled nursing or long-term care.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to supervise nursing personnel and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist the DON in planning, developing, and supervising daily nursing operations and nursing staff.
• Support recruitment, hiring, orientation, training, and professional development of nursing personnel.
• Assist with employee performance management, staff concerns, and disciplinary actions when necessary.
• Oversee clinical operations, including monitoring resident conditions, conducting rounds, and ensuring quality nursing care.
• Promote resident safety, dignity, and respect while ensuring appropriate care.
• Collaborate with residents, family members, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate resident care.
• Assist in developing, implementing, and evaluating nursing policies, procedures, and clinical practices.
• Conduct staff meetings and ongoing nursing in-services to support professional development and regulatory compliance.
• Monitor nursing practices to ensure compliance with applicable federal and state regulations.
• Provide direct resident care and serve as backup for the DON and nursing staff when necessary.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident and employee information.
• Support the DON in identifying opportunities for improvement and maintaining a positive, professional nursing environment.
