Job summary

SCO Family of Services is seeking a Relief Counselor to work part-time on-site at our Brooklyn, NY location. The role involves managing ADL routines, supervising activities, and supporting residents with health, education, and mental health needs.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma and at least three years of experience with adolescents, contributing to a safe and structured living environment. Travel is required, with compensation at the stated hourly rate.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.
• Three years' experience working with adolescents.

Responsibilities

• Establishes ADL routines including house jobs, room chores, wake‑ups, lights‑out, laundry, cooking, etc.
• Supervises individual and group activities such as trips, sporting events, crafts, and etc.
• Upholds all elements of behavior management system, including restriction system, negotiations, and repertoire of confrontation techniques and responses.
• Attends to the educational/ vocational, health and mental health needs, etc, of residents.
• Models' positive behavior at all times while confronting negative behavior.
• Commits to the mission of the program by supporting the creation of a safe, orderly, and caning environment.
• Any other assigned tasks.
