Job summary

Wasatch Behavioral Health in American Fork, Utah, is seeking a Part-Time Male Human Service Worker at our Vantage Point North youth crisis shelter. In this role, you'll provide direct supervision, support, and guidance to adolescent ages 10-17 facing family conflict, emotional distress, mental health concerns, or trauma. Must be male to qualify.

Schedule 7:00 PM–3:00 PM, or 3:00 PM–11:00 PM. Compensation $17.50–$22.17 per hour DOE.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Valid driver's license.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to stay calm and patient in challenging situations.
Background check required.
Spanish speakers may qualify for a wage increase.

Responsibilities

Provide direct supervision and support to adolescents in a short-term crisis care setting.
Create a safe, stable, and supportive environment for youth aged 12-17 with emotional and behavioral challenges.
Assist with daily routines, activities, and skill-building.
Use de-escalation and behavior intervention techniques.
Monitor youth safety, including those at risk of self-harm or family conflict.
Support intake processes and ensure readiness for admission.
Assist with medication management under supervision.
Collaborate with therapists and team members on individualized care goals.
Maintain accurate documentation and report progress.
Build trusting relationships to encourage growth and resilience.
