Job summary

Desert Care Network in Indio, CA is seeking a Per Diem Admitting Representative to greet patients and visitors, collect demographics, financial and medical information, and support registration and insurance verification.

You will coordinate billing, collect patient liabilities such as co-pays and deductibles, obtain necessary authorizations, and liaise with hospital staff to expedite admissions and the billing process while maintaining strict confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 3 - 5 years recent experience in acute care hospital registration or business office environment.
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medi-Cal and third party billing and collection procedures
• Experience or knowledge in admissions, registrations and insurance verification's is essential
• Ability to speak Spanish (preferred)
• Medical Terminology - preferred

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors and register them with demographic, financial and medical information.
• Coordinate and assist in activities relating to patient finances and billing.
• Obtain and verify insurance and eligibility, and secure required authorizations.
• Collect patient liabilities such as co-pays, deductibles and co-insurance.
• Communicate clearly with staff and patients while maintaining confidentiality.
