Job summary

This role emphasizes accurate data handling and timely communications with insurers to optimize reimbursement. Ideal candidates have a year of customer service experience, strong communication skills, and familiarity with medical terminology.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or Equivalent required.
• 1 year of Customer Service experience required.
• CHAA certification upon hire preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately gathers complete financial and demographic information to ensure medical records/billing process flows efficiently.
• Obtains and/or updates verification of benefits and/or pre-certification for applicable tests and/or procedures.
• Prepares, presents, and explains legal, ethical, and compliance documents; ensures consents are signed and documented.
• Maximizes reimbursement by identifying insurance carrier and benefits; prevents denials by timely notification of admission to carriers.
• Assists patients in understanding financial obligations; collects co-payments, self-pay deposits, and patient balances to reduce AR.
• Stays abreast of and complies with applicable regulations and policies; maintains customer service and productivity guidelines.
