Job summary

Texas Health Resources Fort Worth is seeking an Admissions Specialist for Patient Access Services at the ER to gather accurate patient information, verify benefits, and explain financial obligations to patients and families. You will work in a collaborative, professional environment with cross-training opportunities across Patient Access areas to support efficient medical records and billing processes.

Requirements include a high school diploma, 1 year of customer service experience, and CHAA

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of customer service experience required.
• CHAA certification preferred.
• General knowledge of office equipment and PCs.

Responsibilities

• Gathers complete financial and demographic information for efficient medical records/billing processing.
• Obtains and/or updates verification of benefits and pre-certification for tests/procedures.
• Explains and ensures consent documents are signed; maintains documentation.
• Maximizes reimbursement by identifying insurance carrier and benefits; notifies insurers of admissions to prevent denials.
• Assists patients in understanding financial obligations; collects co-pays, deposits, and balances to reduce AR.
• Maintains compliance with regulations and department policies; adheres to service and productivity guidelines.
