Job summary

Altapoint Healthcare seeks an Admissions Coordinator to be the first point of contact for individuals and families seeking behavioral health services. You will guide clients through admissions, complete pre-screenings, and coordinate assessments in an in-person setting.

Collaborating with clinical, medical, and marketing teams, you will verify insurance, ensure documentation compliance, and support seamless transitions while maintaining referral relationships.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience in admissions, intake, case management, customer service, or behavioral health settings.
• Proficiency with EHR systems and Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Compassionate, professional, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• CADC or similar certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the initial contact for prospective clients, families, and referral partners.
• Conduct pre-admission screenings and determine appropriate level of care (detox, residential, PHP, IOP, OP).
• Schedule evaluations, intakes, and admissions while coordinating with clinical and medical staff.
• Provide program information and support throughout the admissions process.
• Complete and maintain accurate documentation, consent forms, and financial agreements.
• Communicate financial responsibilities.
• Maintain follow-up communication with clients and referral sources.
• Support census-building efforts and collaborate with marketing and outreach teams.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
