Austin Oaks Hospital in South Austin, TX seeks an Admissions Registered Nurse (RN) PRN to support referrals and admissions, assess patient status, and ensure accurate documentation. The role involves crisis intervention, leadership to staff, and collaboration within an interdisciplinary team to deliver quality care.

Applicant must be a licensed RN in Texas (or a compact state) with psychiatric experience and relevant certifications; background checks and de-employment screens apply.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• Licensed by the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas (or licensed in a compact state).
• One-year psychiatric nursing experience preferred.
• CPR and hospital de-escalation certifications.
• Must be able to complete a nationwide background check and pre-employment drug screen.
• State and Federal OIG checks.

Responsabilités

• Responds to incoming calls to coordinate referrals/admissions.
• Assesss patients' psychiatric and medical status.
• Ensure inquiries, referrals, and admissions are documented in the computer system.
• Ensure referral patient medical record information is completed and shared with staff.
• Assess, direct and intervene in crisis situations.
• Provide leadership to mental health technicians.
• Contribute to treatment plans as a member of interdisciplinary team.
• Administer medication and medical treatment as prescribed by Physician.
