Job summary

Alliance Health Center in Meridian, MS is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse for an Admissions RN role in our 24/7 Intake Department for Substance Abuse. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered.

You will respond to inquiries, conduct clinical assessments, explain the admissions process, discuss care with physicians, and guide Intake Counselors while collaborating with hospital teams.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
• Experience: Prior intake, assessment, admission and crisis intervention experience with a psychiatric mental health population, preferably in an inpatient setting.
• Licensure/Certification: Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by the Mississippi Board of Nursing.
• Knowledge: Crisis intervention, risk assessment, psychiatric diagnoses, basic chemical dependency, age-specific growth and development, crisis and behavior management.

Responsibilities

• Respond to telephone and face-to-face inquiries seeking mental health care or information about mental health related services.
• Conduct clinical assessments in a timely manner utilizing appropriate processes.
• Ensure patients and families understand the admissions and treatment process.
• Discuss clinical issues with physicians to determine next steps.
• Provide guidance to Intake Counselors and other departmental staff.
• Collaborate with other departments and hospital leaders to address the needs of patients and staff.
