Job summary

Alliance Health Center in Meridian, Mississippi is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse for an Assessment Coordinator role in our busy 24/7 Intake Department for Substance Abuse. The RN will support admissions, coordinate assessments, and guide intake processes to ensure timely care.

The role requires nursing education and crisis intervention experience in psychiatric/behavioral health settings, with collaboration across departments, physicians, and intake counselors to address patient needs.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• Experience: Prior intake, assessment, admission and crisis intervention experience with a psychiatric mental health population, preferably in an inpatient setting.

Responsibilities

• Respond to telephone and face-to-face inquiries seeking mental health care or information about mental health related services.
• Conduct clinical assessments in a timely manner utilizing appropriate processes.
• Ensure patients and families understand the admissions and treatment process.
• Discuss clinical issues with physicians to determine next steps.
• Provide guidance to Intake Counselors and other departmental staff.
• Collaborate with other departments and hospital leaders to address the needs of patients and staff.
