Alliance Health Center in Meridian, Mississippi, is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse for an Assessment Coordinator role in the 24/7 Intake Department for Substance Abuse. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered.

As an Admissions RN, you will conduct clinical assessments, respond to inquiries, explain the admission process, and collaborate with physicians and intake staff. This role offers competitive benefits and opportunities for professional development within UHS.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• Experience: Prior intake, assessment, admission and crisis intervention experience with a psychiatric mental health population, preferably in an inpatient setting.
• Licensure/Certification: Currently licensed to practice by the Mississippi Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.
• Knowledge: crisis intervention and risk assessment, psychiatric diagnoses symptomology, basic chemical dependency, age specific growth and development and crisis and behavior management.

Responsibilities

• Respond to telephone and face-to-face inquiries seeking mental health care or information about mental health related services.
• Conduct clinical assessments in a timely manner utilizing appropriate processes.
• Ensure patients and families understand the admissions and treatment process.
• Discuss clinical issues with physicians to determine next steps.
• Provide guidance to Intake Counselors and other departmental staff.
• Collaborate with other departments and hospital leaders to address the needs of patients and staff.
