Summit BHC is seeking an Intake RN to manage daily patient intake and admissions, including screening, financial counseling, and insurance verification. The role works with physicians to determine level of care and coordinates with nursing and business office teams for timely admissions.

Responsibilities include documenting symptoms and needs, facilitating referrals, and managing call-center duties during peak periods. On-site position with a strong emphasis on compliance and patient education.

Competenze

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing is required.
• BSN preferred.
• One or more years' experience in mental health admissions preferred.
• Experience in clinical interviewing, patient assessment, referral, treatment planning.
• Experience in managed care pre-certification, level of care assessments, and utilization.
• Excellent interpersonal, interviewing, and assessment skills; strong telephone etiquette.

• Facilitates admissions and assessment processes for incoming patients.
• Collaborates with facility staff to ensure appropriate recommendations and admissions.
• Provides call center coverage: answers phones, processes admission requests, verifies insurance.
• Gathers admission documentation and secures pre-authorization for treatment.
• Reviews charts to determine medical necessity and coordinates with physicians.
• Communicates treatment recommendations to and coordinates with treatment teams.
• May administer medications and monitor labs under psychiatrist supervision.
• Maintains medication accountability and completes adverse reaction forms as needed.
• Advocates for the lowest level of care and coordinates transfers between levels.
• Ensures thorough documentation for each shift and responds to service requests.
