Job summary

The California State University in Sacramento seeks an Admissions & Outreach Trainee to assist in advising prospective students and families on admissions requirements, and to present information sessions both in-person and online. The role involves representing the university to counselors, schools, and the public, with guidance from senior SSPs and a focus on inclusive outreach.

The position is a full-time, one-year appointment (non-renewable) with a typical schedule Monday–Friday, 8:00

Qualifications

Understanding Sacramento State marketing messages.
Knowledge of recruiting and marketing processes.
Knowledge of admissions, financial aid, and housing processes.
Ability to work in a diverse environment with varied value systems.
Ability to use standard office equipment and software including Zoom and MS Office.
Willingness to travel frequently (car travel).
Commitment to an inclusive work environment with diverse stakeholders.
Must be able to travel independently and timely.

Responsibilities

Advise prospective students and families on admissions requirements.
Conduct admissions information sessions one-on-one and in groups, in-person and virtual.
Represent Sacramento State to a broad range of constituents and the public.
Support advising and campus information sessions under supervision.
Perform duties as a trainee in Admissions & Outreach Office.
