• Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants.
• Ensure that all nursing personnel comply with written policies and procedures.
• Participate in development, maintenance, and implementation of the facility’s quality assurance program for the nursing service department.
• Meet with assigned nursing staff to plan shifts, services, and activities.
• Assist in planning the nursing services portion of the resident’s discharge plan as necessary.
• Fill out and complete transfer forms and incident reports; maintain required records.
• Chart nurses’ notes accurately reflecting care provided and resident responses.
