Job summary

Acadia Healthcare is seeking an Intake Specialist to guide new arrivals through the intake process, coordinating with remote admissions and on-site teams to ensure smooth admission and proper documentation.

The role emphasizes strong communication, attention to detail, and a patient-centered approach to help clients feel welcomed and supported upon arrival, with adherence to confidentiality and professional standards.

Qualifications

• High-school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of experience in a patient care environment in a substance use/behavioral health setting, is preferred.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills, and ability to use required computer programs.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with client/family of potential admissions to address questions and concerns.
• Coordinate facility tours with clients and families who are potential admissions.
• Interface with remote admissions team and on-site clinical team for approvals and plan for client arrival.
• Establishes professional rapport with client to ensure a welcoming arrival.
• Support arrival process including assessment/bed placement and searches of belongings for prohibited items.
• Orient client to the facility and milieu.
• Liaise with direct care/nursing/clinical team to ensure treatment plan/schedule is in place.
• Ensure intake paperwork is completed timely and maintained.
• Discuss client’s financial responsibility and take payment as applicable.
• Provide exceptional customer service in line with Acadia Healthcare standards.
