Job summary

Canyon Ridge Hospital, part of Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS), in Chino, CA, is seeking an Intake Counselor OR Registered Nurse to support admissions through initial assessment and referral activities. You will work with patients, families and hospital staff to determine the appropriate level of care.

The role emphasizes collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, clinical interview techniques and compassionate family counseling in a fast-paced mental health setting.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in social work, psychology, counseling or a related field or an active RN license.
• At least 2 years of experience in a mental health setting preferred.
• Experience with Addiction & Recovery, clinical interviewing, patient assessment and treatment planning.
• Ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate admissions by performing initial assessments and referrals for all incoming/potential patients.
• Consult with patients, families, medical staff and hospital staff regarding assessments and recommended levels of care.
• Counsel patients and families on current assessments and referral options.
