Job summary

The Grammar School in Putney, Vermont seeks a warm, organized Admissions and Enrollment Officer to manage day-to-day admissions and enrollment, coordinate events, and welcome families.

Working closely with the Head of School, you will guide inquiries through enrollment, lead campus tours, maintain records, and build relationships with prospective families in a small independent school setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and professional experience.
• Experience in admissions, enrollment, education, nonprofit work, hospitality, event management, or a related field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, and follow-through.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects independently.
• Warm, professional approach to working with children, families, colleagues, and community members.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary point of contact for prospective families and guide them from inquiry through enrollment.
• Coordinate and lead campus tours, family meetings, student visits, and classroom observations.
• Maintain regular communication with prospective families about applications, visits, deadlines, and next steps.
• Process applications and coordinate materials for review by the Head of School and Admissions Team.
• Maintain accurate and confidential admissions and enrollment records and help manage the admissions database.
• Track inquiries, applications, enrollment, retention, and attrition and provide regular enrollment updates.
• Coordinate the annual re-enrollment process and support family follow‑up.
• Help create a thoughtful onboarding experience for newly enrolled students and families.
