Full-Time, Year-Round | Reports to the Head of School The Grammar School (TGS) seeks a warm, organized, and highly responsive Admissions and Enrollment Officer to join our school community. Working closely with the Head of School, this position manages the day-to-day admissions and enrollment process and coordinates events that welcome families and strengthen the TGS community. The Admissions and Enrollment Officer is often one of the first people prospective families meet and plays an important role in helping families understand what makes a TGS education distinctive. About The Grammar School: The Grammar School was founded in 1960 by a small group of families with the understanding that a child’s elementary school years provide the foundation for all future learning. The oldest of the independent elementary schools in southern Vermont, TGS attracts families from Vermont, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts and has been a forerunner in programming in the arts, service learning, and nature-based education. The school is located on 60 acres of fields and forest and has a close-knit community of 140 combined students and faculty/staff. Outdoor study and play are key components of The Grammar School’s educational philosophy. Students are engaged at all grade levels in the natural world. We believe that time spent outdoors teaches us to observe, collaborate, and improvise. Students build understanding of systems and the interconnectedness of our world while enjoying the cognitive, emotional, and physical benefits of spending time outdoors and in nature. Our students participate in hands‑on learning activities that combine the humanities and the arts and cultivate practical, intellectual, and creative skills. We emphasize the development of critical skills in reading and writing and foundational math skills. Collaboration and respectful interactions are key attributes of the curriculum. In addition, The Grammar School enjoys a long tradition of outdoor winter sports, particularly Nordic skiing.
