Florida State University is seeking a candidate for the Office of Admissions to support first-year admissions. You will assess application types, apply university policies, and assist with recruitment activities while engaging with prospective students and counselors.
Responsibilities include coordinating the application review process, counseling on scholarship opportunities, and communicating policies to families. Travel may be required to represent FSU at events and outreach programs.
The Office of Admissions is a unit within the Division of Enrollment Management, which is comprised of four distinct units: Office of Admissions, Office of the University Registrar, Office of Financial Aid, and Technology Operations. Enrollment Management’s integrated services provide distinctive support throughout the student's development and progression in their academic experience – from recruitment through commencement. Through collaboration, communication, and commitment, all units within Enrollment Management achieve the highest level of student-centered service to current and prospective students and families and to campus partners across the University.
Office of Admissions
The Office of Admissions is a unit within the Division of Enrollment Management, which is comprised of four distinct units: Office of Admissions, Office of the University Registrar, Office of Financial Aid, and Technology Operations. Enrollment Management’s integrated services provide distinctive support throughout the student's development and progression in their academic experience – from recruitment through commencement. Through collaboration, communication, and commitment, all units within Enrollment Management achieve the highest level of student-centered service to current and prospective students and families and to campus partners across the University. Responsible for the evaluation of first-year application types and the implementation of University policies and procedures as they relate to first-year Admissions. Assists in the planning and coordinating of recruitment activities and represents Florida State University to prospective students, parents, and counselors. Assists in the coordination and management of the application review process for first-year students to the University. Responsible for the implementation of University policies and procedures as they relate to first-year Admissions. Shares in the management of the acknowledgment of incomplete first-year applications. Represents the University for first-year admissions. Frequent contact with prospective students, applicants and their parents, the general public, officials and personnel associated with colleges/community colleges/universities, and high school counselors. Provides interpretation of policies and procedures to aforementioned entities. Some contact with principals and teachers. Participates in special events hosted by the Office of Admissions. Extensive travel throughout Florida and out of state. Due to travel needs, position requires operation of a motor vehicle. Counsels prospective students and represents the University at sponsored events pertaining to Admissions and provides information about the University and its programs. Assists in the review and evaluation of policies and procedures, making suggestions and recommendations to senior leadership. Counsels current and prospective students regarding admission scholarship opportunities, eligibility and renewals requirements. Refers specialized scholarship questions to Program Manager and/or senior leadership. Assists other sections during peak times in support of the goals of the Division of Enrollment Management.
