Job summary

La Salle University in Philadelphia is seeking an Admissions Counselor to recruit, admit and enroll undergraduate students across a large geographic territory. The role requires extensive travel to high schools and college fairs within the university’s markets and collaboration with the Admissions team to meet enrollment targets.

Proficiency or fluency in Spanish is preferred. Evening and weekend work may be required during peak periods, and a valid driver’s license is essential to visit schools

  • Manage a sizable recruitment territory.
  • Create a recruitment plan.
  • Discuss La Salle’s offerings with prospective students, parents, counselors and alumni via extensive travel to high schools and college fairs within the University’s primary, secondary and tertiary markets.
  • Conduct regular information and one-on-one sessions for prospective students.
  • Complete and review all applications for admission from assigned recruitment territories.
  • Assists with department and divisional sponsored events including off-campus recruitment and yield events.
  • Assist Enrollment Management staff as needed.
  • Manage special projects and/or serve on committees as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

This is a pooled position from which Admission Counselors will be selected when the need arises in the department. These pools are closed down annually during the summer and you will receive notification that a refreshed application is needed for you to continue to be considered.

Position Summary

The Admissions Counselor has the primary responsibility for recruiting, admitting and enrolling undergraduate, full-time students from a sizable geographical territory. Extensive travel to high schools and college fairs within the University’s primary, secondary and tertiary markets is required. The Admissions Counselor works in collaboration with the Admissions team to meet enrollment targets and goals. The Admissions Counselor reports to the Executive Director of Undergraduate Admissions. Proficiency or fluency in Spanish is preferred.

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Capable of undertaking complex admissions responsibilities with minimal direction.
  • Strong customer service orientation and experience in developing recruiting and communication strategies.
  • Previous experience using Ellucian’s BANNER .
