La Salle University invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Nursing (Non-Tenure Track), 9 months, to teach across undergraduate and graduate programs and contribute to scholarly activity.

The role requires a doctoral degree in nursing or related discipline, an active PA RN license, and at least five years of classroom and clinical experience. Evening/weekend duties may be required.

Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in nursing or appropriate discipline.
  • Current Pennsylvania RN license or multistate license.
  • Minimum of five years recent classroom and clinical experience.
  • Evidence of scholarship beyond the doctoral dissertation (publications, presentations, grants).
  • Demonstrated record of professional and clinical experience, teaching, and curriculum development.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Participation in School and/or University Committees.
  • Participation in professional organizations at local, state, or national levels.

Responsibilities

  • Teach assigned courses and prepare materials aligned with learning objectives.

Position Summary

The Nursing Program within the School of Nursing and Health Sciences invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position (9-month appointment) with teaching responsibilities across undergraduate and graduate nursing programs. Candidates with diverse areas of expertise are encouraged to apply, with particular interest in those specializing in pathophysiology, pharmacology, health assessment, psychiatric/mental health, obstetrics, and pediatrics.

  • Teach assigned courses and prepare course materials consistent with departmental learning objectives.
  • Participate in program, school, and University committees for service in line with program expectations.
  • Establish an active research agenda in line with program expectations.
  • Provide academic advising for students, including mentorship, guidance, and support.
  • Attend department, school, and University meetings and functions including student recruitment events, commencement ceremonies and related activities, and other related initiatives.
Secondary Responsibilities
  • Familiarity with varied instructional delivery methods.
  • Familiarity with the AACN Essentials (2021) and competency-based education.
Required Qualifications
  • Doctoral degree in nursing or an appropriate discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Current registered nurse license in Pennsylvania or multistate.
  • A minimum of five years recent classroom and clinical experience.
  • Evidence of scholarship, other than the doctoral dissertation, may be demonstrated by contributions to the professional literature, presentations at national, state, or local meetings and/or grantsmanship.
  • Demonstrated record of professional and clinical experience, teaching, and curriculum development.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Participation in School and/or University Committees.
  • Participation in professional organizations at local, state, or national levels.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with varied instructional delivery methods is preferred.

Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours
