Job summary

Canopy Children's Solutions in Jackson, MS is seeking an Admissions Coordinator to manage the intake and admission process for programs requiring prior authorization. The role includes entering referrals into the EHR, completing initial screenings, and securing pre-certifications with insurance companies.

This position also conducts intake assessments, supports community relations to promote the Organization’s mission, tracks admissions and census, and ensures compliance with Medicaid

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a behavioral health field such as Social Work or Rehabilitation Counseling.
• One year of experience in behavioral health or social services with children/youth is required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Provides initial screening to determine appropriate treatment and level of care.
• Offers referral services and guides sources on intake process per medical necessity criteria.
• Manages referrals, intake forms, and pre-certifications with insurance providers.
• Acts as liaison between Medicaid, MCOs, clinical staff, and Admissions leadership.
• Tracks admissions, authorizations, and census; maintains data in reporting systems.
• Promotes Canopy and develops community partnerships; coordinates external referrals.
