Job summary

National Health Care Associates seeks an Admissions Coordinator to guide prospective residents and families through the admission process. You will act as the primary contact, coordinate paperwork, and coordinate with hospital and community partners to ensure a smooth transition into our care community.

The role emphasizes empathy, strong communication, and teamwork within a compliant, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

  • Business Admin degree required or similar.
  • 3–5 years of long-term care experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of state and federal admission regulations.
  • Empathy for residents and families during transition.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in healthcare.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as liaison between prospective residents, families, and the facility.
  • Identify and develop referral sources.
  • Coordinate admissions process, including paperwork and assessments.
  • Conduct pre-admission screenings and assessments.
  • Explain facility services, policies, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure care planning.
  • Maintain accurate admission records.

What You'll Do

As an Admissions Coordinator, you will be the first point of contact for individuals and families considering admission to our facility. Your role involves guiding them through the admission process, addressing their concerns, and ensuring a smooth transition into our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a liaison between prospective residents, families, and the facility
  • Identify and develop referral sources
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with area hospitals and community agencies
  • Generate public relations and marketing opportunities
  • Coordinate and facilitate the admissions process, including paperwork and assessments
  • Conduct pre-admission screenings and assessments

  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure proper care planning and coordination

What You'll Bring
Qualifications of an Admissions Coordinator include:
  • Business Administration degree and/or 3-5 years related experience in long-term care
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing the admission process within a nursing facility
  • Empathy for the needs of individuals and families during the transition process
  • Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Interest in the nursing needs of the aged and the chronically ill with the ability to work with both
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in a healthcare setting
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
