Life Care Centers of America is seeking an Admissions Assistant (Non Nurse) to support the admission process in a post-acute care setting. This role emphasizes attention to patient and family needs during admission and requires adherence to Life Care standards and applicable laws.

The preferred schedule is Thursday through Monday, recognizing weekend commitments with flexibility possible for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Prior healthcare experience preferred.
• Ability to make independent decisions when warranted.
• Knowledge of laws, regulations and guidelines governing post-acute care facilities.
• Implements and interprets programs, goals, policies and procedures of the department.
• Competency in patient rights, safety and sanitation.
• Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary/confidential information.
• Understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures.
• Completes mandatory Code of Conduct and compliance training.

Responsibilities

• Gather and enter all necessary admission paperwork.
• Provide assistance for patient and family at time of admission.
• Assist with follow up visits and interviews with all new patients after admission.
• Assist or provide facility tours to potential and newly admitted patients, families, and visitors.
• Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients.
• Assist in the evacuation of patients.
• Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance; concentrate and use planning judgment.
• Communicate and build productive collaboration on an interdisciplinary team.
• Sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, move intermittently during working hours.
• Read, speak, write, understand anglais language.

Education, Experience, and Licensure Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Prior healthcare experience preferred

Specific Job Requirements

• Possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
• Knowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the post acute care facility
• Implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department
• Perform proficiently in all competency areas including but not limited to: patient rights, and safety and sanitation
• Maintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.
• Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
• Understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures
• Displays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Care’s Code of Conduct and completes mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance training
