Job summary

Life Care Center of Elyria is seeking an Admissions Assistant (Non Nurse) to support the admission process on weekends. You will gather paperwork, assist patients and families at admission, and conduct follow-up visits with new patients after admission.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, good English communication, and a patient-centered approach. Experience in healthcare is preferred; you will work as part of an interdisciplinary team delivering compassionate care in a post-acute

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior healthcare experience preferred.
• Ability to make independent decisions when warranted.
• Knowledge of laws, regulations, and guidelines governing post-acute care facilities.
• Follow company policies including Code of Conduct and compliance training.

Responsibilities

• Gather and enter all necessary admission paperwork.
• Provide assistance for patient and family at time of admission.
• Assist with follow up visits and interviews with all new patients after admission.
• Assist or provide facility tours to potential and newly admitted patients, families, and visitors.
• Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude toward patients.
• Assist in evacuation of patients.
• Maintain dependable, regular attendance.
• Read, write, speak, and understand English.

Position Summary

The Admissions Assistant (Non Nurse) facilitates and supports the admission process in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.

Education, Experience, And Licensure Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Prior healthcare experience preferred

Specific Job Requirements

• Possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
• Knowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the post acute care facility
• Implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department
• Perform proficiently in all competency areas including but not limited to: patient rights, and safety and sanitation
• Maintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.
• Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
• Understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures
• Displays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Care’s Code of Conduct and completes mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance training
