Qualifications

The Admissions Assistant will provide administrative and customer service support to the Admissions Office and assist prospective and current students throughout the admissions process.Under supervision of the Assistant Director for Admissions, the successful candidate will be responsible for:Greeting prospective students and visitors upon arrival in the Admissions OfficeAnswering incoming calls to the Admissions Office and appropriately directing as applicableDetermining the nature of prospective students' and visitors' needs and providing timely and accurate responsesProcessing new student applications and related information, and preparing student filesProviding information by telephone, written correspondence and in person to interested parties regarding applicant procedures and admissions requirementsKeeping abreast of admissions regulations, policies, and proceduresSorting, processing and distributing incoming and outgoing mail and electronic communicationsMaintaining inventory of all admissions materialsProviding administrative supportAssisting with all Student Affairs processes and procedures as assignedAssisting with the design and execution of special events, projects, and activitiesPerforming other duties as assignedMinimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent *and* six (6) months of related work experience.Preferred QualificationsPrior experience in college admissionsExperience working with the public in a customer service environmentExcellent verbal and written communication skillsSkill in operation of computers and job-related software programsSkill in managing multiple prioritiesDecision making and problem solving skillsPhysical demandsThe employee occasionally lifts or moves objects of a light to medium weight. Work is typically performed in an office environment with intermittent sitting, standing, or walking in various settings. The employee must be able to lift up to 25 pounds. Full range of hand and finger motion may be utilized for data entry purposes.Salary/BenefitsSalary is commensurate with education and work experience.
