Job summary

Cambridge Health & Rehabilitation Center in Fairfield, CT is seeking an Admissions Coordinator to be the first contact for prospective residents and families, guiding them through the admission process and addressing questions with care.

This part-time role offers 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday. You will coordinate paperwork, pre-admission screenings, and collaborate with clinical teams to ensure a smooth transition into our community.

Qualifications

  • Business Administration degree (or related)
  • 3-5 years of experience in long-term care or related setting
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing admissions
  • Empathy for residents and families during transition
  • Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in healthcare

Responsibilities

  • Be the first point of contact for prospective residents and families
  • Act as a liaison between residents, families and the facility

ADMISSION ASSISTANT

Part-Time

20 hours a week

4 hours a day Mon-Fri

What You'll Do:

As an Admissions Coordinator, you will be the first point of contact for individuals and families considering admission to our facility. Your role involves guiding them through the admission process, addressing their concerns, and ensuring a smooth transition into our community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as a liaison between prospective residents, families, and the facility
  • Identify and develop referral sources
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with area hospitals and community agencies
  • Generate public relations and marketing opportunities
  • Coordinate and facilitate the admissions process, including paperwork and assessments
  • Conduct pre-admission screenings and assessmentsExplain facility services, policies, and procedures to prospective residents and families
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure proper care planning and coordination
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to admissions

What You'll Bring:

Qualifications of an Admissions Coordinator include:

  • Business Administration degree and/or 3-5 years related experience in long-term care
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing the admission process within a nursing facility
  • Empathy for the needs of individuals and families during the transition process
  • Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Interest in the nursing needs of the aged and the chronically ill with the ability to work with both
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in a healthcare setting
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
