Job summary

Shady Knoll Center for Health & Rehabilitation is seeking an Activities Assistant on a per‑diem basis at our Seymour, CT location. You will plan and implement a variety of recreational and therapeutic activities to foster a positive atmosphere for our aging residents.

You will work with the Activities Director to create a monthly calendar, engage residents in arts, crafts, games, and music, and provide one-on-one support when needed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Long-Term Care or senior living setting is preferred but not required – training will be provided.
• Compassionate and empathetic nature
• Interest in the therapeutic needs of the aged and the chronically ill with the ability to work with both
• Ability to read, write and comprehend English
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

As an Activities Assistant, you have a crucial role in planning and implementing a variety of recreational and therapeutic activities. Your creative ideas and enthusiasm will contribute to fostering a positive and lively atmosphere for our residents.
