Adult & Teen Challenge Arkansas is seeking an Admissions Specialist to manage client admissions with compassionate, confidential interactions. You will review applications, conduct follow-up interviews, and ensure accurate EMR updates, while adhering to safety and policy standards.

The role emphasizes teamwork with the interdisciplinary staff, meeting deadlines, and supporting clients through the intake process at the ATCAR campus as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred in related field such as Social Work, Psychology, or Education.
• Must have essential computer skills and ability to navigate EMR.
• Must be able to pass drug, nicotine, and alcohol tests.
• Strong phone communication skills with compassionate, confidential interactions.
• Certifications must be obtained within state-established time limits and company policy.
• Complete trainings and pass certification examinations.

Responsibilities

• Oversees client applications and admissions checklist into the program.
• Review all client applications and respond within 24 hours.
• Conduct follow-up phone interviews with applicants and referral sources.
• Upload client information to the EMR upon arrival, including contact details.
• Participate in agency-wide trainings and in-services.
• Follow policies, procedures, and safety rules for the facility.
• Maintain confidentiality of client and employee information per policy.
• Assist in removing barriers to admission of clients.
• Make referrals and liaise with other agencies as needed.
• Present new client intakes to the interdisciplinary team.
• Attend occasional meetings at ATCAR campus.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Admissions Specialist is responsible for client admissions. The admissions coordinator reports to the Admissions Director.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred in related field – such as Social Work, Psychology, or Education – preferred.
• Must have essential computer skills and ability to navigate and use the company EMR.
• Must be able to pass drug, nicotine, and alcohol tests.
• Strong phone communication skills, with the ability to engage compassionately and professionally in sensitive, Christ-centered conversations while maintaining confidentiality and clarity.
• Hold/Receive required certifications within the predetermined time limits established by the State of Arkansas and Adult & Teen Challenge of Arkansas.
• Complete the specifically designed trainings and pass written examination required for certification.

Competencies:

• Work effectively with culturally diverse population and be sensitive to the needs of each population.
• Communicate compassionately and effectively with clients, health care professionals, and the general public.
• Familiar with medical terminology as it relates to mental health care and basic family practice care.

• Able to lift up to 30 pounds.
• Physically able to walk, stand, and stoop for several hours each day.
