Job summary

Shaftesbury Education is seeking an Administrator to support the transition of students into and beyond Shaftesbury Nash College. You will collaborate with our Transition and Admin team to coordinate pathways from initial enquiry through to next destinations.

Role requires working with families, local authorities, schools and external professionals to ensure person-centred, high-quality planning and effective information logging. DBS checks apply.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge and understanding of EHCPs and SEN processes and law.
  • Experience with FE funding and Local Authority funding implications.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Collating consultations, arranging assessments, and student onboarding processes.
  • Work closely with families, local authorities, and external agencies to support student pathways.
  • Be involved in EHCP processes, arrange and attend annual reviews, and assist with person-centred planning.
  • Attend events, help plan open days, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Contribute to reporting, planning, and logging information.
  • Maintain accurate records and up to date student data on our systems.
  • Cover reception on a rota basis.
  • Respond to verbal and written queries from external parties, parents and staff.

About Shaftesbury Statement

Shaftesbury is a disability charity offering care, education, vocational and rehab services. The charity also provides residential care, nursing, and supported living. In addition to Shaftesbury Nash College, Shaftesbury operates Shaftesbury Millie College, an FE college for students aged 16-25, and Shaftesbury Victoria School for students aged 3-19. All students have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), as well as physical and/or intellectual disabilities, and some have profound and complex learning needs.

About The Role

We are seeking an exceptional Administrator to help shape the journey of young people as they move into and beyond Shaftesbury Nash College. This will be working collaboratively with our Transition and Admin team. You will assist with the coordination of transition pathways for students with additional needs – from first enquiry through to their next destination. This includes working closely with families, local authorities, schools, and external professionals to ensure every learner has a person-centred, high-quality transition into the college and to their next destinations. This is a visible, outward-facing role where you will also represent the college and help build partnerships

Key Responsibilities
  • Collating consultations, arranging assessments, and student onboarding processes
  • Work closely with families, local authorities, and external agencies to support student pathways
  • Be involved in the EHCP processes, arrange and attend annual reviews, and assist with person-centred planning
  • Attend events, help plan open days, and stakeholder engagement
  • Contribute to reporting, planning, and logging information.
  • Maintain accurate records and up to date student data on our various systems.
  • Covering reception on a rota basis.
  • Responding to verbal and written queries (email phone and post) from external parties, parents and internal staff as appropriate.
Desired Skills & Qualifications
  • Knowledge and understanding of EHCPs and SEN processes and law
  • Knowledge and understanding of specialist FE Department of Education (formally ESFA funding) and Local Authority funding
  • Knowledge and understanding of special educational needs and disabilities
  • Confident, compassionate professional who combines management ability with a passion for supporting young people with additional needs
  • Ability to work independently while also being a part of a small team
  • Experience working with young people with disabilities and/or additional needs
  • Strong knowledge of transition planning and EHCP processes
  • Excellent organisation, communication, and engagement skills
  • Demonstrate proficiency using IT systems to maintain student data, adhering to GDPR regulations
  • A commitment to person-centred practice and inclusive education
