Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Materials Planner to analyze MRP daily, determine raw material requirements, and manage bulk material levels within a fast-paced plant environment.

The role purchases raw materials through call-off releases, spot POs, and requisitions, coordinating inbound schedules to meet production needs while ensuring FIFO rotation and ISO compliance. Proficiency in SAP and MS Office is essential.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a plant operations environment.
  • ISO Quality System knowledge and raw materials understanding.
  • Certified in 49 CFR Regulations; Parts 100-185.
  • Working knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office Products.

  • Purchase raw materials for poly units through call-off releases, spot purchase orders, and requisitions to Corporate Procurement.
  • Develop supply chain plans and manage inbound schedules within bulk and warehouse capacity limits.
  • Coordinate raw material and chemical shipments to meet changing production schedules.
  • Reconcile physical month-end raw material inventories and complete SAP adjustments.
  • Document vendor performance and raw material quality.
  • Monitor material inventories against production task schedules.
  • Maintain raw material records and documentation and ensure materials remain within appropriate levels.

Job description

  • Analyze MRP daily to determine raw material requirements, bulk material levels, and weekly catalyst inventories
  • Purchase raw materials for poly units through call-off releases, spot purchase orders, and requisitions to Corporate Procurement
  • Develop supply chain plans and manage inbound schedules within bulk and warehouse capacity limits
  • Coordinate raw material and chemical shipments to meet changing production schedules
  • Reconcile physical month-end raw material inventories and complete SAP adjustments
  • Participate in the site annual PIO
  • Interface with internal customers and suppliers to ensure accurate inventory requirements
  • Review certificates of analysis for compliance with site specifications
  • Participate in customer, supplier, and FRA audits
  • Clear SAP web cycle cockpit invoice issues and resolve discrepancies involving price, receipts, credit, demurrage, and freight
  • Manage PP&S warehouse boxes, SAP inventory movements, and monthly box cycle counts
  • Schedule transloads with carriers and poly units, including trucking of off-spec materials
  • Manage warehouse employee raw material unloading responsibilities
  • Ensure FIFO material rotation, scrap contaminated or damaged materials, and return obsolete materials to suppliers for credit
  • Prepare and ship hazardous samples and return hazardous residue containers in compliance with 49 CFR DOT regulations
  • Document vendor performance and raw material quality
  • Monitor material inventories against production task schedules
  • Maintain raw material records and documentation and ensure materials remain within appropriate levels
  • Serve as Site Hazardous Material Coordinator and ensure hazardous materials are properly prepared for shipment
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a plant operations environment
  • Specific experience in warehouse, shipping, logistics or vendor relations preferred
  • General knowledge and understanding of plant operations, products produced, ISO Quality System, raw materials utilized at the plant site, and general accounting
  • Certified in 49 CFR Regulations; Parts 100-185
  • Working knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office Products
  • Knowledge of raw materials management, purchasing, and Production Planning for Process Industries (PPPI)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to successfully interact in a team environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to Safety
  • Ability to multitask and pay attention to details in a fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
