Job description

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Administrator in Training (AIT) to join our team in a structured program designed to prepare you for licensure as a Nursing Home Administrator in Montana State. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about long-term care leadership, quality resident care, and facility operations.

In this hands‑on role, you’ll work directly under an experienced preceptor in a Montana State‑licensed nursing home. You’ll gain broad exposure to all aspects of LTC operations through rotations and real‑world projects, building the skills needed to lead high‑quality care teams.

Key Responsibilities (Under Preceptor Supervision)

• Participate in all areas of facility operations, including administration, nursing, HR/staffing, finance/budgeting, admissions, dietary, activities, social services, maintenance, and regulatory compliance.

• Assist with quality improvement initiatives, policy development, and resident/family relations.

• Support leadership in meetings, performance management, and problem‑solving projects.

• Complete required training hours and learning activities toward Montana State AIT program requirements (typically 1,500 hours / ~9 months).

• Learn budgeting, revenue/expense reporting, and compliance with federal and state regulations.

• Act as a positive role model for our mission of exceptional resident‑centered care.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (required; healthcare administration, business, or related field preferred).

• Strong interest in pursuing Nursing Home Administrator licensure in Montana

• Previous experience in healthcare, long‑term care, or management is a plus but not required.

• Excellent communication, leadership potential, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.

• Commitment to completing the AIT program and NAB exam.

Montana State specifics: Must meet DOH requirements, including a bachelor’s degree and completion of an approved AIT program before taking the NAB exam.
