# Administrative Support StaffNewberry College - Newberry, SC 29108## OverviewPosition TypeFull TimeEducation Level4 Year Degree## DescriptionNewberry College is seeking a highly organized and proactive Administrative Support Staff to support daily operations, assist academic leadership, and ensure smooth coordination across multiple administrative areas. This role is central to maintaining an efficient administrative environment and supporting compliance, budgeting, and department management.**JOB FUNCTIONS:**Program & Academic Support* Assist a wide range of administrative tasks, projects, and communications. Includes purchasing, travel reimbursement, and other tasks as detailed below.Operational & Organizational Duties* Maintain organization Academic Affairs, Business Operations, and Human Resources, including files, schedules, departmental resources, and shared documents.* Assist with budget tracking and documentation, expense reports, and financial processing tasks.JOB FUNCTIONS:* Meets all deadlines as indicated by supervisor.* Works with department supervisors to develop and maintain accurate, realistic, timely, and fiscally sound budgets. Reconciles budgets monthly.* Order and maintain office supplies – including name tags, business cards, and keys.* Communication and planning for internal/external meetings, events, conferences, and speakers related to departmental needs.* Assist with Commencement, Convocation, and other College events as needed.* Provide front-line customer service support by greeting students, families, and visitors, directing inquiries to appropriate offices, and assisting with general questions regarding campus services.* Answer, screen, and return phone calls and emails, ensuring timely responses and routing inquiries to appropriate staff members.* Assist with the collection, organization, filing, scanning, and processing of paperwork and supporting documentation in accordance with institutional policies and confidentiality requirements.* Support campus departmental operations by maintaining records, preparing correspondence, tracking paperwork, and assisting with administrative workflows.* Monitor shared email inboxes and assist with appointment scheduling, document intake, and communication.* Assist with peak-period office operations, including registration, billing, financial aid processing cycles, orientation, and other student service initiatives.* Other duties to support operations as defined by the department supervisors.## Qualifications**EDUCATIONAL OR OTHER HIRING REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION**Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Excellent written and verbal communication. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic data management. Ability to work independently, take initiative, and support multiple leaders. Experience in higher education administration is a plus but not required. Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred, with at least two years of administrative experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.**APPLICATION**Application review will begin immediately and will continue until a candidate is selected.
