Class Description
The purpose of this class is to provide advanced leveladministrative support services to assigned department, school ordivision.
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma/GED and seven years related office experienceor Associate’s Degree and five years related office experience;knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office applications; mustcomplete and pass Microsoft testing modules which includes Word andExcel and demonstrate the ability to type 40 wpm; experience inhigher education preferred. (Candidates with proof of currentMicrosoft Office Expert Specialist Certification do not need totest.)
Compensation within the posted range is determined by acandidate's education level and/or years of experience in thefield. Generally, employees are hired in the lower third of thescale.
Class Specific Essential Duties
- Assist and provide information to students, faculty,administrators and the college community in person and on thetelephone.
- Assist with special projects, meetings and/or specialevents.
- Serve as liaison between department or program and otheroffices or organizations.
- Research, analyze and process data into college systems.
- Maintain records and files.
- Assist with area budget process.
- Compile reports, documents, forms and correspondence.
- Create and track check requests, requisitions, work orders andother request forms.
- Manage calendars for department personnel.
- Process and manage all relevant course, program and/orpersonnel paperwork.

Position Specific Essential Duties
- Facilitate the operation of the department at a high-quality,independent level including: a) calendar management for departmentpersonnel; b) assists with the planning and coordination of specialevents, projects, meetings and/or special events; c) delegatingassignments on behalf of the Assistant Vice President (AVP); and d)mentoring staff and work study/summer youth workers.
- Perform office manager duties for respective office locationand serve as primary back-up for the short-term absences of an areasupervisor and/or support personnel.
- Assists with the budget including: a) development assistance,support, monitoring and maintenance; b) coordinates collection andpreparation of financial and operational reports for CE; c)research, collect and compile information from external sources forpurchasing decisions and budget management; d) liaison between AVP,area personnel and the director and assistant of CE FinancialOperations.
- Design and create reports, documents and forms for review byAVP which are typically of a sensitive and/or confidentialnature.

Permanent Whole Life Insurance: Unum- Permanent Whole Life Insurance with Optional Long Term Carerider available through Unum. Available to full-time employees,part-time associates, and adjunct faculty.

Accidental Death & Dismemberment: The HartfordIndividual or Family Coverage. Employee pays a rate in multiples of$10,000 to a maximum of $300,000.
Long-Term DisabilityPlan pays 60% of gross monthly salary after 90 consecutive days ofabsence. Employee pays 100% of premium.
