Job summary

Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) seeks an Social Work Adjunct to teach Introduction to Social Work and Human Behavior in the Social Environment. Courses may be on campus, remote synchronous, or online, with collaboration across the department and timely submission of materials and grades.

Requirements include a Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, LCSW-C/LCSW/LMSW licensure, and at least five years of social work experience.

Qualifications

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work.
  • Licensure as an LCSW-C, LCSW, or LMSW.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience as a social worker.
  • Proficient computer skills and Microsoft applications knowledge.
  • Preferred online/remote synchronous college teaching experience.
  • Experience using classroom technology and LMS.

Responsibilities

  • Fulfills department and college responsibilities as directed by the Department Chair and/or Program Coordinator.
  • Abides by College wide policies and procedures regarding classroom conduct.
  • Employs a variety of teaching strategies to meet a diverse student population.
  • Adheres to the scheduled time of class.
  • Develops a course syllabus in keeping with program and College policies.
  • Ensures that program-specific evaluation methods are administered and completed equitably.

Social Work Adjunct faculty are needed to teach Introduction toSocial Work and Human Behavior in the Social Environment courses oncampus day, evening, weekend, remote synchronous, and/or onlineclasses at the Community College of Baltimore County. Adjunctfaculty will be expected to facilitate learning via preparation anddelivery of instruction, cooperation with College support staff intimely submission of materials and grades as required, andcoordination of activities with the Department Chair and/or ProgramCoordinator. Adjunct faculty are selected based on program needsand subject matter expertise of the applicant. Adjunct faculty arerequired to attend department meetings, participate in professionaldevelopment related to classroom instruction and pedagogy, beavailable to students outside of class, and assist in maintainingprogram accreditation.\
